성경의 번역은 신약보다 구약이 어렵고 특히 구약 중 시편이 어려울 것이라고 할 것이다.
그런데 한글의 성경 번역은 잘 준비된 또는 잘 준비하게 하신 유대인계 피터스 목사를 택하시어 구약성경을 번역하게 하시고 성경을 감수책임을 맡기셨다는 것은 또는 책임이 있었다는 것은 하나님의 한국에 주신 은혜의 선물이라 아니 할 수 없을 것이다.
신약 성경 중에는 바울 서신의 번역이 어렵거나 잘 이해하기 어렵게 번역이 되었다. 그것은 바울의 영적 깊이와 높이의 체험 그리고 많은 학식을 가진 바울만큼 신앙적인 깊이와 학문적 풍부함을 가져야 잘 번역할 수가 있을 것이다. 바울의 영적체험을 모르고 바울의 학식의 깊이를 공감 이해하지 못하면 번역이 어렵거나 정확한 번역이 어려울 수 있다 할 것이다. 이러한 이유 때문에 바울 서신의 번역이 어렵고 번역자가 정확한 이해를 못했기에 정확한 번역이 어려울 수도 있다는 것이다.
빌립보서에서 내가 어떤 세상 죄가 아니라 그리스도 메시야 때문에 그리스도 메시야를 위해서 감옥에 갇힌 것이 온 시위대 안에 분명히 알려졌고 밝혀졌기에 복음에 유익이 되었다는 것이다. 바울이 움직이고 만나는 사람마다 메시야 그리스도 예수를 생각하게 될 수 밖에 없을 것이다.
예수님으로 나타나신 하나님은 이방인을 위한 도구로 쓰시기로 하셨는데 바울을 통해 그 복음을 전하게 하시는 방법이 오묘하다.
이제 드디어 에베소서의 마지막 장 마지막 부분으로 가 보자.
바울은 특히 이방인의 사도로서 그리고 로마로 가는 과정과 로마의 옥중에서도 로마의 군 지휘관과 군인들과도 많이 접촉하였을 것이다. 본문은 로마 군사의 복장을 예로 들어 비교하며 설명하고 있다. 그 당시 로마제국의 시대에 로마군사의 복장은 누구에게나 대단히 익숙하였을 것이다. 그러므로 그 비유가 실감있고 이해하기가 쉬었을 것이다. 그들이 늘 보는 익숙하고 생생한 모습이기 때문이다. 에베소 교인들 역시 로마 군사의 복장은 익숙하고 생생하였을 것이다. 그 군인의 병사의 복장을 예로 들어 복음을 전하는 것이다.
엡6:10
종말로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고
11 마귀의 궤계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신갑주를 입으라
12 우리의 씨름은 혈과 육에 대한 것이 아니요 정사와 권세와 이 어두움의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들에게 대함이라
13 그러므로 하나님의 전신갑주를 취하라 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라
14 그런즉 서서 진리로 너희 허리 띠를 띠고 의의 흉배를 붙이고
15 평안의 복음의 예비한 것으로 신을 신고
16 모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 가지고 이로써 능히 악한 자의 모든 화전을 소멸하고
17 구원의 투구와 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라
( * 사도 바울과 로마군사,
사도 바울은 그의 전도 사역 중 로마 병사들을 대단히 자주 목격하였을 것이다. 아니 목격하였을 뿐 아니라 가까이 지낼 수 밖에 없었을 것이다. 그러므로 그의 예 중에 군사 병사라는 말이 자주 나오는 것을 볼 수 있다. 특별히 로마에서의 옥중 서신인 에베소서에서는 군사들의 완전무장 복장의 예를 들어 말하고 있는 것이다. 그 편지를 받은 에베소 교인들 역시 로마 병사의 복장은 잘 보고 알았기에 비유적 표현을 잘 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 그 당시는 로마 제국시대이기 때문이다.)
1. 그가 예루살렘에서 가이사랴로 가는 과정에,
(행23:19-33)
19 천부장이 그 손을 잡고 물러가서 종용히 묻되 내게 할 말이 무엇이냐
20 대답하되 유대인들이 공모하기를 저희들이 바울에 대하여 더 자세한 것을 묻기 위함이라 하고 내일 그를 데리고 공회로 내려오기를 당신께 청하자 하였으니
21 당신은 저희 청함을 좇지 마옵소서 저희 중에서 바울을 죽이기 전에는 먹지도 않고 마시지도 않기로 맹세한 자 사십여 명이 그를 죽이려고 숨어서 지금 다 준비하고 당신의 허락만 기다리나이다 하매
22 이에 천부장이 청년을 보내며 경계하되 이 일을 내게 고하였다고 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하고
23 백부장 둘을 불러 이르되 밤 제 삼 시에 가이사랴까지 갈 보병 이백 명과 마병 칠십 명과 창군 이백 명을 준비하라 하고
24 또 바울을 태워 총독 벨릭스에게로 무사히 보내기 위하여 짐승을 준비하라 명하며
25 또 이 아래와 같이 편지하니 일렀으되
26 글라우디오 루시아는 총독 벨릭스 각하에게 문안하노이다
27 이 사람이 유대인들에게 잡혀 죽게 된 것을 내가 로마 사람인 줄 들어 알고 군사를 거느리고 가서 구원하여다가
28 유대인들이 무슨 일로 그를 송사하는지 알고자 하여 저희 공회로 데리고 내려갔더니
29 송사하는 것이 저희 율법 문제에 관한 것뿐이요 한 가지도 죽이거나 결박할 사건이 없음을 발견하였나이다
30 그러나 이 사람을 해하려는 간계가 있다고 누가 내게 알게 하기로 곧 당신께로 보내며 또 송사하는 사람들도 당신 앞에서 그를 대하여 말하라 하였나이다 하였더라
31 보병이 명을 받은 대로 밤에 바울을 데리고 안디바드리에 이르러
32 이튿날 마병으로 바울을 호송하게 하고 영문으로 돌아가니라
33 저희가 가이사랴에 들어가서 편지를 총독에게 드리고 바울을 그 앞에 세우니
19 The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, "What is it you want to tell me?"
20 He said: "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about him.
21 Don't give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request."
22 The commander dismissed the young man and cautioned him, "Don't tell anyone that you have reported this to me."
23 Then he called two of his centurions and ordered them, "Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.
24 Provide mounts for Paul so that he may be taken safely to Governor Felix."
25 He wrote a letter as follows:
26 Claudius Lysias, To His Excellency, Governor Felix: Greetings.
27 This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him, but I came with my troops and rescued him, for I had learned that he is a Roman citizen.
28 I wanted to know why they were accusing him, so I brought him to their Sanhedrin.
29 I found that the accusation had to do with questions about their law, but there was no charge against him that deserved death or imprisonment.
30 When I was informed of a plot to be carried out against the man, I sent him to you at once. I also ordered his accusers to present to you their case against him.
31 So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul with them during the night and brought him as far as Antipatris.
32 The next day they let the cavalry go on with him, while they returned to the barracks.
33 When the cavalry arrived in Caesarea, they delivered the letter to the governor and handed Paul over to him.
2). 로마로 항해하는 과정에서
(행27:1, 31,42-44)
1 우리의 배 타고 이달리야로 갈 일이 작정되매 바울과 다른 죄수 몇 사람을 아구사도대의 백부장 율리오란 사람에게 맡기니
1 When it was decided that we would sail for Italy, Paul and some other prisoners were handed over to a centurion named Julius, who belonged to the Imperial Regiment.
30 사공들이 도망하고자 하여 이물에서 닻을 주려는 체하고 거루를 바다에 내려놓거늘
31 바울이 백부장과 군사들에게 이르되 이 사람들이 배에 있지 아니하면 너희가 구원을 얻지 못하리라 하니
32 이에 군사들이 거룻줄을 끊어 떼어 버리니라
33 날이 새어가매 바울이 여러 사람을 음식 먹으라 권하여 가로되 너희가 기다리고 기다리며 먹지 못하고 주린 지가 오늘까지 열 나흘인즉
30 In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow.
31 Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved."
32 So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it fall away.
33 Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. "For the last fourteen days," he said, "you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food--you haven't eaten anything.
3). 그리고 로마의 옥중에서
(빌1:12-13)
12 형제들아 나의 당한 일이 도리어 복음의 진보가 된 줄을 너희가 알기를 원하노라
13 이러므로 나의 매임이 그리스도 안에서 온 시위대 안과 기타 모든 사람에게 나타났으니
12 Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.
13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
4). 그 이전 이스라엘에서 유대인의 박해 때 로마의 천부장 백부장과 군사들과 자주 접했을 것이다.
(행16:27,36 )
행16:25 밤중쯤 되어 바울과 실라가 기도하고 하나님을 찬미하매 죄수들이 듣더라.
(* 그러나 더 중요하고 놀라운 것은 하나님이 들으셨다는 것이다. 그것은 그 결과를 통해서 알 수 있다.)
26 이에 홀연히 큰 지진이 나서 옥터가 움직이고 문이 곧 다 열리며 모든 사람의 매인 것이 다 벗어진지라.
( * 과연 예수님께서 교회 성도에게 천국 열쇠를 주리니 라고 약속하셨는데 그것이 이 사도행전 역사 즉 초대교회사에서 이미 증명되었고 되고 있다는 것이다. 그렇다면 오늘의 교회에도 동일하게 증명될 수 있다는 것이다. 예수 그리스도는 예수의 영 성령은 영원히 동일하시기 때문이다.)
27 간수가 자다가 깨어 옥문들이 열린 것을 보고 죄수들이 도망한 줄 생각하고 검을 빼어 자결하려 하거늘
28 바울이 크게 소리질러 가로되 네 몸을 상하지 말라 우리가 다 여기 있노라 하니
29 간수가 등불을 달라고 하며 뛰어들어가 무서워 떨며 바울과 실라 앞에 부복하고
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.
27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!"
29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
16:36 간수가 이 말대로 바울에게 고하되 상관들이 사람을 보내어 너희를 놓으라 하였으니 이제는 나가서 평안히 가라 하거늘
37 바울이 이르되 로마 사람인 우리를 죄도 정치 아니하고 공중 앞에서 때리고 옥에 가두었다가 이제는 가만히 우리를 내어 보내고자 하느냐 아니라 저희가 친히 와서 우리를 데리고 나가야 하리라 한대
36 The jailer told Paul, "The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace."
37 But Paul said to the officers: "They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out."

(엡6:13-17)
18 모든 기도와 간구로 하되 무시로 성령 안에서 기도하고 이를 위하여 깨어 구하기를 항상 힘쓰며 여러 성도를 위하여 구하고
19 또 나를 위하여 구할 것은 내게 말씀을 주사 나로 입을 벌려 복음의 비밀을 담대히 알리게 하옵소서 할 것이니
20 이 일을 위하여 내가 쇠사슬에 매인 사신이 된 것은 나로 이 일에 당연히 할 말을 담대히 하게 하려 하심이니라
21 나의 사정 곧 내가 무엇을 하는지 너희에게도 알게 하려 하노니 사랑을 받은 형제요 주 안에서 진실한 일꾼인 두기고가 모든 일을 너희에게 알게 하리라
22 우리 사정을 알게 하고 또 너희 마음을 위로하게 하기 위하여 내가 특별히 저를 너희에게 보내었노라
23 아버지 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도에게로부터 평안과 믿음을 겸한 사랑이 형제들에게 있을지어다
24 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 변함 없이 사랑하는 모든 자에게 은혜가 있을지어다
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.
23 Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
