1. 참된 예배
( 막7:1-24 )
1 바리새인들과 또 서기관 중 몇이 예루살렘에서 와서 예수께 모였다가
1 The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law / who had come from Jerusalem / gathered around Jesus and /
2 그의 제자 중 몇 사람의 부정한 손 곧 씻지 아니한 손으로 떡 먹는 것을 보았더라
2 saw some of his disciples / eating food with hands / that were "unclean," / that is,/ unwashed./
3 (바리새인들과 모든 유대인들이 장로들의 유전을 지키어 손을 부지런히 씻지 않으면 먹지 아니하며
3 (The Pharisees and all the Jews / do not eat / unless they give their hands / a ceremonial washing, / holding to the tradition / of the elders.
4 또 시장에서 돌아와서는 물을 뿌리지 않으면 먹지 아니하며 그 외에도 여러 가지를 지키어 오는 것이 있으니 잔과 주발과 놋그릇을 씻음이러라)
4 When they come from the marketplace / they do not eat / unless they wash. / And they observe many other traditions, / such as the washing of cups, / pitchers and kettles.)

5 이에 바리새인들과 서기관들이 예수께 묻되 어찌하여 당신의 제자들은 장로들의 유전을 준행치 아니하고 부정한 손으로 떡을 먹나이까
5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus,/ "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition / of the elders / instead of eating their food with 'unclean' hands?“

6 가라사대 이사야가 너희 외식하는 자에 대하여 잘 예언하였도다 기록하였으되 이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다
6 He replied, "Isaiah was right / when he prophesied / about you hypocrites; / as it is written: / "'These people honor me with their lips,/ but their hearts are far from me./

아버지께 참으로 예배하는 자들은 신령과 진정으로 예배할 때가 오나니 곧 이 때라 아버지께서는 이렇게 자기에게 예배하는 자들을 찾으시느니라 24 하나님은 영이시니 예배하는 자가 신령과 진정으로 예배할지니라'
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
(* God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." / 하나님은 영이시니 영과 진리 안에서 예배하라는 것이다. 예배자는 성령과 진리 안에서 예배하라는 것이다. 이 구절에서 진리는 세상적 어떤 진리가 아닌 하나님, 하나님의 말씀인 것으로 영원한 것이다.
그러므로 막7:7-8 절에 하나님, 하나님의 말씀 대신에 유한하고 시대에 따라 변할 수 있는 사람의 어떤 전통이나 이론 이념 도덕 철학 사상등으로 예배하는 것은 헛된 예배라고 하신 것임을 알 수 있다. 그런데,)
8 너희가 하나님의 계명은 버리고 사람의 유전을 지키느니라
8 You have let go of the commands of God / and are holding on to the traditions of men.“

9 또 가라사대 너희가 너희 유전을 지키려고 하나님의 계명을 잘 저버리는도다
9 And he said to them: / "You have a fine way of setting aside / the commands of God / in order to observe your own traditions!

10 모세는 네 부모를 공경하라 하고 또 아비나 어미를 훼방하는 자는 반드시 죽으리라 하였거늘
10 For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' / and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother / must be put to death.‘
11 너희는 가로되 사람이 아비에게나 어미에게나 말하기를 내가 드려 유익하게 할 것이 고르반 곧 하나님께 드림이 되었다고 하기만 하면 그만이라 하고
11 But you say / that if a man says to his father or mother: /'Whatever help you / might otherwise have received from me is Corban'/ (that is, a gift devoted to God),

(* 제물,, (신에게 바치는) 헌물 이란 뜻의 히브리어 코르반에서 유래한 표현. 바리새인들은 내 재산은 다 고르반이다 고 맹세한 경우, 그 재산 중 일부만 성전에 바치고 나머지는 모두 자기가 취함으로써 부모 부양의 부담에서 벗어나는 악습이 있었다.

12 제 아비나 어미에게 다시 아무것이라도 하여 드리기를 허하지 아니하여
12 then you no longer let him do anything / for his father or mother.
13 너희의 전한 유전으로 하나님의 말씀을 폐하며 또 이같은 일을 많이 행하느니라 하시고
13 Thus you nullify the word of God / by your tradition / that you have handed down. / And you do many things like that.“

14 무리를 다시 불러 이르시되 너희는 다 내 말을 듣고 깨달으라
14 Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, / "Listen to me, everyone, / and understand this.
15 무엇이든지 밖에서 사람에게로 들어가는 것은 능히 사람을 더럽게 하지 못하되
15 Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. / Rather, it is what comes out of a man / that makes him 'unclean.'“

17 무리를 떠나 집으로 들어가시니 제자들이 그 비유를 묻자온대
17 After he had left the crowd / and entered the house,/ his disciples asked him about this parable.
18 예수께서 이르시되 너희도 이렇게 깨달음이 없느냐 무엇이든지 밖에서 들어가는 것이 능히 사람을 더럽게 하지 못함을 알지 못하느냐
18 "Are you so dull?" he asked. / "Don't you see / that nothing that enters a man from the outside / can make him 'unclean'?
19 이는 마음에 들어가지 아니하고 배에 들어가 뒤로 나감이니라 하심으로 모든 식물을 깨끗하다 하셨느니라
19 For it doesn't go into his heart / but into his stomach, / and then out of his body." / (In saying this, / Jesus declared all foods "clean.")

21 속에서 곧 사람의 마음에서 나오는 것은 악한 생각 곧 음란과 도적질과 살인과 22 간음과 탐욕과 악독과 속임과 음탕과 흘기는 눈과 훼방과 교만과 광패니
21 For from within, out of men's hearts,/ come evil thoughts,/ sexual immorality, / theft, murder, adultery, / 22 greed, malice, deceit,/ lewdness, envy, slander, / arrogance and folly.

23 이 모든 악한 것이 다 속에서 나와서 사람을 더럽게 하느니라
23 All these evils come from inside / and make a man 'unclean.'“
24 예수께서 일어나사 거기를 떠나 두로 지경으로 가서 한 집에 들어가 아무도 모르게 하시려 하나 숨길 수 없더라
24 Jesus left that place / and went to the vicinity of Tyre. / He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; / yet he could not keep his presence secret.

7 사람의 계명으로 교훈을 삼아 가르치니 나를 헛되이 경배하는도다 하였느니라

34 He looked up to heaven / and with a deep sigh said to him, / "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!").
35 그의 귀가 열리고 혀의 맺힌 것이 곧 풀려 말이 분명하더라
35 At this, the man's ears were opened, / his tongue was loosened / and he began to speak plainly.
36 예수께서 저희에게 경계하사 아무에게라도 이르지 말라 하시되 경계하실수록 저희가 더욱 널리 전파하니
36 Jesus commanded them / not to tell anyone. / But the more he did so, / the more they kept talking about it.
