영문법 5형식이라.
영문법 5 형식이라고 하면 영어를 모국어로 쓰는 사람들은 오히려 문장의 5형식이 뭔데 하며 반물할지 모른다. 그들은 그러한 외국인들이 만들어 놓은 문법과 관계없이 자연스럽게 순서적으로 말하고 쓰는데 익숙할 것이다.
그러므로 영문법에서 문장의 5형식에 지나치게 의존하는 것보다 읽어가면서 직독직해로 이해하고 해석하는 것도 필요할 것이다. 영어를 해석하기 위해서 뒤로 갔다 앞으로 갔다 하는 것은 지나고 보면 문제가 좀 있었을 것으로 본다. 영어를 모국어로 쓰는 사람들은 순서적으로 말하고 순서적으로 이해할 것이다.
한국어와 영어의 단어 문장 배열 순서가 전혀 다르기에 이러한 기본을 이해하지 못하고 영어를 한국식으로 뒤로 갔다 앞으로 갔다 해석하는 방법은 영어를 발전하게 하지 못하는 이유 중의 하나가 아니었을까 한다. 영어를 한국식 해석방법으로 배우고 공부와 시험 위주로 공부한 한계를 뒤늦게 알게 된 것이다.
근래에 많이 강조되고 회자되는 직독직해 식으로 진즉 공부하였어야 할 것이다. 문법의 기본을 배우고 직독직해로 읽고 말하고 쓰고 하는 즉 적용하면서 배우야 하는데, 영어를 한글 한국어 또는 한국식으로 이해하고 공부와 입시 시험 위주로 배우다 보니 어쩌면 지난 십수년가 배우고도 대부분 적용 활용하는 것에 진전이 없었다. 그 동안 배운 것을 적용 활용 사용할 곳도 없었다. 그렇다면 무엇을 위하여 지난 수년 십수년 이상 외국어로 배웠는지 하는 것이다. 일평생 읽을 수 있고 읽어야 하는 한영성경 읽기를 중등 전후부터 일평생 읽은다면 영력과 국력에 크게 유익이 될 것이다.
영어는 어떤 나라의 국어 이상으로 세계시민의 세계어로 보아야 할 것이다. 따로 세계어가 만들어진다면 모르지만 말이다. 앞으로는 기기의 발달로 외국어도 기기로 어느 정도 할 수 있을 수도 있겠지만 그래도 풍부한 내용을 위해서 한영서경 읽기가 유익할 것이다.
영문법 문장의 5형식을 말하다가 이야기가 길어졌는데 영어를 모국어로 사용하는 국민들은 문장의 5형식을 모르거나 없을 수 있다. 문장의 5형식이 뭔데요 그냥 전하고 싶은 내용을 순서적으로 쓰고 말하면 되는데 자신들도 모르는 복잡한 문법들이 뭐고 5형식이 뭔가요 하며 말이다.
국어와 마찬가지로 외국어도 말하고 읽고 쓰고 들으며 즉 사용하면서 배우고 또 계속 사용하여야 할 것이다. 세계인으로서 세계어 뿐 아니라 한국인으로서 모국어 한국어도 계속 사용하면서 잊지 않고 배우며 발전 할 것이다.)

1 The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law / who had come from Jerusalem / gathered around Jesus and /
2 saw some of his disciples / eating food with hands that were "unclean," / that is, unwashed./
3 (The Pharisees and all the Jews / do not eat / unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, / holding to the tradition of the elders.
4 When they come from the marketplace / they do not eat unless they wash. / And they observe many other traditions, / such as the washing of cups, / pitchers and kettles.)
5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus,/ "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition / of the elders / instead of eating their food with 'unclean' hands?“
6 He replied, "Isaiah was right / when he prophesied / about you hypocrites; / as it is written: / "'These people honor me with their lips,/ but their hearts are far from me./
7 They worship me in vain; / their teachings are but rules taught by men.‘ /
8 You have let go of the commands of God / and are holding on to the traditions of men.“
