1. 성령으로 난 사람
요3:8
8 바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리를 들어도 어디서 오며 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니
성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하니라
' 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하다' 는 말이 무슨 뜻일까요, (요3:8)
다시, 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이와같다에서 이와 같다는 말이 무엇이 이와같다는 말일까요,
그 앞에 무슨 내용이 있었고 그 무슨 내용과 같다는 것일까요. 그 앞의 예가 무엇일까요,
8 바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리를 들어도 어디서 오며 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 ,
The wind blows / wherever it pleases./ You hear its sound, / but you cannot tell /where it comes from /or where it is going.
성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하니라
So it is / with everyone / born of the Spirit.
다시, 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하니라' 에서 무엇이 이러하다는 것일까요. 바람은 육신의 눈으로 눈볼 수도 없는데 바람을 통한 그 역사를 봄으로 바람의 존재를 알 수 있는 것과 같이 예수의 영 성령 역시 눈으로 볼 수 없으나 육신의 눈으로 볼 수 있는 그 역사를 통해서 알 수 있다는 뜻일 것이다.
좀 더 쉬운 영어성경 번역에서는 다음과 같이 의역하고 있다. 성령으로 난 사람도 어떻게 성령으로 거듭난 것인지를 인간적으로는 알 수가 없어서 설명할 수 없다는 것이다. 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이와같다고 하였는데 nlt 2nd 번역에서는 그 내용을 의역하여 알기 쉽게 번역하였다는 것이다. 물론 경전은 원칙적으로는 쉬운 번역을 제외하고는 의역을 하지 않는 것이 적절하다고 본다. 그러므로 경전의 쉬운 번역은 단지 참고하는 것이 적절하다 할 것이다.

(* 하나님께서 어떻게 성령으로 거듭나게 하셨는지는 설명할 수 없다는 것이다. 단지 그 결과를 통해서만 알 수 있다. 마치 바람을 볼 수는 없지만 보이는 그 역사를 통해서 알 수 있다. 나뭇잎이 흔들리고 빨래가 마르고 돛단배가 가고 있는 것을 통해서 바람의 존재와 역사를 알 수 있다. 마치 공기를 볼 수는 없지만 우리가 숨쉬고 살고 있는 것을 통해서 공기가 존재하는 것을 알 수 있는 것과 같다 할 것이다.
신앙의 사람들도 영이신 성령을 볼 수 없지만 내 안의 내적 증거와 보이는 외적 증거를 통해서 하나님의 영 성령의 존재와 역사를 알 수 있는 것이다. 성령으로 난 사람도 다 이러하니라. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.)

6 육으로 난 것은 육이요 성령으로 난 것은 영이니
7 내가 네게 거듭나야 하겠다 하는 말을 기이히 여기지 말라
