Construction of PROK “Church of Reconciliation and Peace”
At the 103rd PROK General Assembly in 2018, PROK passed a resolution to establish a “Church of Reconciliation and Peace” as the foundation for PROK’s work for the peace movement. PROK (Moderator Rev. Kang Yeon Heung) has been working to promote the construction of a “Church of Reconciliation and Peace” in the hopes of peace on the Korean Peninsula. On October 12, at the general meeting, PROK North Gyeonggi Presbytery presented a gift of 100 million won in support of the construction.
While delivering the donation, Rev. Kang Tae Hee, chairman of PROK North Gyeonggi Presbytery, stated, “At this time when tensions between nations have not yet resolved, we deliver this donation with the prayer and dream of reconciliation between North and South Korea.”
PROK General Secretary, Rev. Kim Chang Ju, responded, “As we are looking for a site for construction in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, this donation will be a cornerstone in the construction.”
