Dear Rev Bae
Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ
It is with great sadness and concern that we have been following the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island.
Please be assured that the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa-New Zealand is holding you and the Presbyterian Church of the Republic of Korea in our prayers. May God guide you in your ministry to the bereaved and to the decision makers of you country.
We are very mindful of the passage from the Gospel of Luke that the PROK has chosen for its signature campaign “For a Peace Treaty in the Korean peninsula”
“to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79)
This is a very timely passage for the present time and we pray that our two churches will be comforted, strengthened and brought together in even greater united as we work for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
In the love and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
May God bless you,
