Message of Solidarity
Dear General Secretary, dear Brother Tae-Jin,
I would like to extend greetings in the name of our Lord to you and our Sisters and Brothers in the PROK and share in your concern regarding the repeated escalation of the tension in the Korean peninsula.
We have thankfully received your call for prayer and solidarity. Please know, that the Hungarian
Reformed Church is aware of your immense concern about political moves towards bigger clashes and about the narrow-minded brinkmanship you are suffering of. From our own history, we know how life-threatening it is when ideologically inspired violence prevails over the welfare of the
people. Therefore we translated and made your call and statement public in Hungary, and we
don’t cease to pray for peace and reunification of Korea. We also represent your case in political
discussion with our own government.
As sign of our solidarity, please, accept the Hungarian version of the NCCK statement which is
attached to this letter.
In ecumenical Solidarity,
Gusztáv Bölcskei,
Presiding Bishop of the
Reformed Church in Hungary
